Psychodynamic Counselling helps you to find words for feelings you may not have expressed before
All counselling now provided remotely via phone or video link

At times we need to talk to someone outside our personal network

Counselling provides a safe place in which thoughts and feelings can be explored in confidence.

Psychodynamic Counselling:

  • Seeks to explore what issues you are struggling with
  • Explores interpersonal relationships developed during childhood and into adulthood
  • Offers a therapeutic treatment, rather than advice, that helps you to resolve problems

    About Psychodynamic Counselling

and how it aims to target unresolved personal issues.

The beginning focuses on making you feel comfortable, by covering all aspects of how counselling proceeds.

The middle is ongoing therapeutic work; sessions & breaks, announced by the therapist in advance.

The end must be approached in a gradual, measured way, working towards a closure with the therapist.

The result is not ‘advice’, but rather a treatment that has been crafted by listening and exploring past events.

There may be times when you need to talk to someone other than friends or family.

Counselling provides a safe and confidential place in which thoughts and feelings can be explored. The counselling relationship is different from social relationships in that it is limited to the counselling session. It is about exploring feelings, becoming more aware of issues affecting one's life and enabling a person to make beneficial changes in his or her life.

In order to make a change one needs to have a clearer understanding of what caused a particular problem in the first place.
A painful situation in the present may have its roots in the past, although the individual may not be aware of the connection.
